III. Marketing Research
In Internet Marketing, the "guru's" have this particular area (IMHO) is more
completely full of bunk than most of the others.
To begin with, they have misdefined marketing and gotten into convenient definitions which allows online online ripoff artists to thrive.
This section is the breakthrough I had in suddenly understanding what all the bits and pieces I had been researching and ferreting out as “best practices.” They all then fit together and made sense – like the various pieces instruments play don’t make sense on their own until orchestrated into one cohesive whole.
So I’m giving you extra time to study this section. Because you are going to have to prove it to yourself whether you can use this stuff. It rides right up against what most people are told in government-run school textbooks. And those have been going on for a very long time (and very unsuccessfully.)
Assignment:
1. Read, study and make complete notes on each chapter-section individually right up to the articles.
2. Assemble these in a sequence that makes sense to you in your 3-ring binder.
3. Re-study the notes this time and see if they make sense to you as you wrote them. This isn’t a test. It’s a way you can see if you agree or not with what I say in that book – and then either reject it and work out your own definitions – or accept them conditionally.
4. Revise your business plan in light of what you decided in #3.
Note: these lessons are simply a guide to get through my book (which you can buy from my online storefront). They won't do you much good without it. Some parts are available at Storeblogs.com
